As well as posting any new thoughts I may have on the world of sport, this page is a showcase to some of my best work over the years. Ranging from modules at University to interviewing well-known journalists and sportspeople, I have aimed to acquire a wide range of talent to tell their story, and comment on the developments of others,

SportsRecap was created during my final module at University Academy 92, aiming to cover some of sports most up-to-date stories, as well as being home to three feature length articles. An interview with British boxer Ben Whittaker was my headline piece after I spoke to him ahead of his bout with Leon Willings in March. I also spoke to Daryl Mitchell, former professional cricketer and Chief Operating Officer of the Professional Cricketer’s Association, outlining the difficulties of the current domestic cricket schedule. On top of this, I spoke to Gordon Winton and Jay Henry, two grassroots referees who spoke about the challenges upcoming referees may face. In full, SportsRecap spans 32 pages, covering eight different sports. Click on the image above to read the full magazine.
In May 2023, I travelled to London to spend a week on work experience in the Wisden office. During my time there, I was able to expand my knowledge on sports writing, learning new ways to present an article, as well as improving on my cricket knowledge as a whole. Working with accomplished writers such as Yas Rana, Ben Gardener and Katya Witney, I created ‘stat packs’ that could be ready to use in an interview, wrote a handful of articles for the Wisden.com website, as well as writing some snappy 100-word news pieces for The Cricket Paper. In January 2022, I landed my first headline interview as I met with Lancashire’s Josh Bohannon. I met with the batsman just after his maiden tour with the England Lions, as he toured Australia over the winter of 2021. At a time before Bazball had taken over English red-ball cricket, Bohannon was touted as a potential Test debutant after England’s batting line-up had been decimated in that winter’s Ashes series. Wolves Speedway played a huge role in my childhood, often travelling to Monmore Green on a Monday evening to see Peter Adams’ side put on a dazzling display. But in late 2023, news broke that Wolves were being turfed out of their lifelong home, allowing greyhound racing to take precedent at the track. I spoke to BBC Radio WM’s Mike Taylor about the events, as well as reflecting on some of my personal memories of the side. Click on the image above to read the article.
